  • Customer would like to know if Provisioning Application Tool for
    Lotus Notes 8.5.1 FP1 is supported under Citrix Presentation
    Server 4.5.
    He wants to deliver features and plugins using Provisioning
    Application Tool for Lotus Notes 8.5.1 (FP1) and he is using the
    tool as described below:

    To deliver the feature to local installed Lotus Notes Client
    8.5.1 FixPack 1 the customer is using this command-line:
    
    rcplauncher -application
    
    com.ibm.rcp.provisioning.application.ProvisioningApplication  -
    
    provisioningOperation provision Installation_pass2.xml
    
    -provisioningStatusLog provisioningresult.log
    
    
    
    Obvious Result is:
    
    Lotus Notes 8.5.1 starts bringing up the Splash Screen, executes
    (obviously) the script and shuts down again
    
    The result in the LogFile (provisioningresult.log) is as
    follows:

    The Problem:

    Using this deployment on a Lotus Notes 8.5.1 (FP1) Client
    installed on
    Citrix Presentation Server does not work properly
    
    for Endusers using Notes under Citrix.
    
    Current analysis:
    
    ============
    
    - Using this same deployment steps on a Lotus Notes 8.5.1 (FP1)
    Client
    installed on a local PC works properly
    
    - Under Citrix we checked and observed this
    
     - [Notes-ProgramDirectory]\framework\rcp\rcplauncher.properties
    
    contains:  install.configuration=multiuser
    
     - [Notes-DataDirectory]\workspace\.config\rcpinstall.properties
    
    contains:  install.configuration=multiuser
    
     - Features and Plugins are transfered to directory
    framework\shared
    (common installation directory) properly
    
     - installed feature seems NOT TO BE INSTALLED, when Enduser
    uses Notes
    
    
    Currently observed difference between Citrix-Installation and
    (properly
    working) local installation:

    Under local installation the file
    framework\rcp\deploy\install.xml
    reflects last administrative installation:
