Error description

  • When attempting to upgrade from Domino 8.5 64 bit on Windows
2003 64 bit to
Domino 8.5.1 64 bit using incremental installer, the installer
fails with the
following error:

"Installer found the incorrect version Release 8.5|December 05,
2008 of Notes
in C:\PROGRAM FILES\IBM\LOTUS\DOMINO. Please check to ensure
this is the
correct directory or use a corresponding installer. See the file
UPGRADE.LOG
for more information."

 In some cases, the following error is preceded with another
error which
states:

"The Lotus Domino registry key does not specify the correct
location of Lotus
Domino. Please check
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Lotus\Domino\Path"

Upon inspection of the registry key, it is found that the key
value is in fact
correct.

Steps to reproduce issue:
1.) Install Domino 8.5 64 bit on Windows 2003 64 bit
2.) Download Domino 8.5.1 64 bit incremental installer for
Windows 2003 64 bit
(CZ5Z4EN.exe)
3.) Run  CZ5Z4EN.exe

Local fix

  • Use 8.5.1 64 bit full installer
