Error description
Beginning in 8.5.1, iNotes now displays a pop-up alert (when enabled in preferences) instead of a modal dialog embedded within the web page when new mail arrives. For mail notifications, the pop-up alert is now the only notification that can be enabled when new mail arrives and the option for a modal dialog has been removed. Several users have complained that with the new pop-up alert option enabled, the browser steals focus of their workstation when the new mail notification occurs, and there is no option to revert to the old behavior of simply displaying the div dialog in the web page. If the users disable the pop-up alert, they are not notified at all when new mail arrives. Customer is requesting that we re-introduce the option to "Prompt when new mail arrives" (modal dialog) in addition to the "Display a popup alert" option. If users enabled both, they would be given a pop-up alert and also prompted in the webpage, but if they only selected "prompt when new mail arrives", it would prevent the pop-up alert from displaying. This way, they would basically have the ability to revert to the old behavior. This is not the same as SPR CJMS7XBSC5, in which customers have expressed concern that they are prompted twice for a calendar reminder. For calendar alerts, we display both a pop-up alert and (if the user does not dismiss the alert) also a subsequent modal dialog in the web page. Steps to Reproduce: Enable "Display a popup alert" in the iNotes preferences -> Mail -> General Testing using Internet Explorer 7, found that when the browser is completely minimized, the pop-up alert will display in the foreground but the browser will remain in the background and the taskbar will only flash until the user takes action. If the user dismisses the pop-up alert, the browser will remain minimized, but if the user clicks "ok" the browser will move to the foreground. However, if Internet Explorer is not minimized to the tray (and is simply an inactive window behind another application), the pop-up alert and browser will both steal focus. Dismissing the pop-up alert will still leave the browser as the active window.
