Error description

  • Getting the above mentioned error when stopping the Lotus Domino
    Service from
    the Windows Services screen.  The Lotus Domino Server stops
    without any
    problems, and can be restarted without any problems.  We just
    get this Windows
    error dialog presented to us because (I believe) it is taking
    too long to close
    the services or report that the service has stopped.
    
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Start the Lotus Domino Server as a service
    2. Once the Domino Server is fully up and running, In the
    Windows Services
    screen, stop the Lotus Domino Server service
    3. Notice that the Lotus Domino Server stops correctly by
    watching the Domino
    Server console. But the Windows Services, Service Control dialog
    (Windows is
    attempting to stop the following services...) never really
    acknowledges that
    the Domino Server stopped and then returns the above error
    dialog.
    
    I have attached a screen shot of the error dialog in the
    Attachments database.
    

Local fix

  • start the server as regular application
