I am able to crash the server when I log into the Outlook client
    and subscribe
to my folders and start retrieving messages.
I do not crash if I use a Eudora or Thunderbird client.

What I found through troubleshooting this call,

If I open the mail file via HTTP using an Internet Explorer
    client, I see 5
    different calendar alarms.

If I click on one of the Alarms in the screen print above, I can
    no longer
reproduce the crash, even if I restore the mail from a backup
    version.

I do not see the calendar entries if I open the mail file up
    using Mozilla
    Firefox.

Local fix

  • The only work around that I know of have the mail user retrieve
    messages with
anything other than a Outlook Express client or open the mail
file using IE and click on the calender alarm.

Problem summary

  • The problem will be fixed in the next release of the product.
