LO42631: ABILITY TO SET LINE LENGTH FOR SENDING AN INTERNET MAIL WITH "PL AIN TEXT ONLY" FORMAT IN NOTES CLIENT

Error description

• A feature enhancement request - Ability to set line length for
  sending an internet mail with "Plain Text only" format in Notes
  Client.
  
  The steps to reproduce the scenario:
  
  1. Use Notes Client 8.5 Basic version and Domino Server 8.5 with
  SMTP task up.
  2. Set "Format for messages addressed to internet addresses" as
  "MIME Format" via Mail Tab of Location document of Local names
  (names.nsf).
  3. Set Internet mail format as "Plain Text only" via Notes Menu
  File\Perferences\User Perferences\Mail\Internet\Internet Mail.
  4. New Message in Notes Client and input a line below in body.

  5. Send this Message to an internet address.  To trap this mail
  via setting the notes.ini parameter SmtpSaveOutboundToFile=1 in
  Domino Server.
  6. Trap this Outbound SMTP MIME information.

  8. Found no way to set line length for sending an internet mail
  with "Plain Text only" format in Notes Client.
  

Local fix

• Two Workarounds provided:
  
  1. Set Outbound line length via MIME/Conversion Options/Outbound
  in server configuration document as 150. But this setting will
  impact all of the users' mails with
  Notes Rich Text Format.
  
  2. Using HTML and Plain Text Internet Mail format that can
  resolve
  this issue for some mail clients, i. e. Notes Client, but
  not all of mail clients can interpret HTML
  format. Even, some mail clients will drop out the mails with
  HTML format.
