LI83009: ERROR WHILE RUNNING V2018 TO v10.0.5.2 / V10.0.5.3 FORM FACTOR MIGRATION USING THE SCRIPTS FROM 10.0.5.2 /10.0.5.3

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• While running v2018 to v10.0.5.3 form factor migration using the
  scripts from v10.0.5.3, the save_v2018_source_configuration.py
  script fails with the below error even if the extract pod is
  running and extracting data from the v2018 management database.
  The error is mostly seen when running on appliance/OVA form
  factor.

  ERROR : Looks like extract of data from v2018 did not complete
  or there was an error in checking the extract complete
  condition.

  The script will also fail when moving to 10.0.5.2 and nginx
  image is not available in the registry.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• With versions 10.0.5.2 and earlier, the script expects nginx
  image to be available in the registry for completion. If the
  image is not available, the script fails. Run the script
  with-help to see alternate options as a workaround.
  
  With version 10.0.5.3, even though the script does not need
  nginx image the script may fail as the output of kubectl command
  is inconsistent and causes failure.
  

Problem conclusion

• This is fixed in 10.0.5.4 and the script does not need any extra
  image to complete the extraction of data from v2018. Also, the
  logic is changed to complete the extraction of data without any
  failures.
