Error description
After updating the WSDL for a SOAP API, users cannot create a new version of the API from the API Manager UI and might get an error like: 400: The multipart 'wsdl' field contains a WSDL definition with validation errors. The zip file format is incorrect (Error: invalid comment length. expected: 2. found: 0). Found while processing Buffer.
Local fix
Users can workaround using the toolkit: 1 - Create the API using wsdl either though UI or toolkit 2 - Get the API document using toolkit apic draft-apis:document -o --format yaml : > apiDocument.yaml 3 - Edit this file Update the version of the API (info -> version) Then under x-ibm-configuration -> wsdl-definition -> wsdl Update this to the name of the updated wsdl (You will need to have this file in the same dir as the apiDocument yaml) 4 - Then create the new API apic draft-apis:create -o dev --api_type wsdl_to_rest --wsdl_service --gateway_type datapower-api-gateway
Problem summary
Creating a new version of an API fails after updating the WSDL file in API Manager. Failure results in the error with a message "The multipart 'wsdl' contains a WSDL definition with validation errors. The zip file format is incorrect"
Problem conclusion
The fix is targeted for inclusion in IBM API Connect v10.0.1.11 and v10.0.5.3
