APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Users of API Connect version 10.0.5.1 might observe the Nats
statefulset service account "management-natscluster gets
deleted and re-created
continuously due to timing events. If the serviceaccount is
missing when the pods are starting up, it will fail.

Local fix

  • Users can delete the nats statefulset until the pods come up.
Once up and running they are then ok

Problem summary

  • Due to an issue with cleaning up an older version of nats, the
serviceaccount for the nats pods in 10.0.5.1 may be regularly
deleted and recreated unnecessarily.
This can cause issues with the nats pods starting (for example
in case of a worker restart).
It may also cause postgres pods to not automatically be
restarted during cert-rotation.

Problem conclusion

  • In 10.0.5.2, the upgrade code has been updated to no longer
remove and recreate the serviceaccount.
