Error description

  • In some cases there is an issue where the unpack of a v5
dbextract produces policy zip files of zero bytes size in their
unpacked location under configured gateway services.

The issue
arises in cases where a given policy (associated with a catalog
in v5) becomes logically associated with multiple configured
gateway services in the v2018/v10 structure.The fix involves
performing a seek back to the start of the file before a
subsequent copy takes place.

Problem summary


    

  • During the migration of a v5 API Connect configuration to v2018
or v10, custom policy implementation zip files that are
associated with a catalog in v5 can appear as zip files of zero
length after the migration utility archive:extract command has
been run. These files should contain the full policy
implementation. This issue appears in cases where a given custom
policy becomes associated with multiple configured gateway
services in the target v2018 or v10 environment.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This issue is addressed in a migration utility update
(10.0.1.1-r1), with the result that custom policy implementation
zip files are fully populated after archive:unpack for all the
configured gateway services with which they are associated.
