APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If using large WSDL APIs, the search index update cron job can
fail with a php out of memory error: "Fatal error: Allowed
memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted
    .../PhpTransliteration.php"

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • The portal PHP process may fail with an OOM error during data
    transliteration.

Problem conclusion

  • The default memory setting for PHP should be able to handle
typical APIC usage. It can however be increased using the
    set_php_memory command as follows:
     <p>kubectl exec -ti <portal www pod> -c admin -- bash -ic
    'set_php_memory 1024'

above example will set php memory to 1024Mb.</p>
