Error description

  • If the attempt to retire a product times out. The next request
to remove that product from the catalog may lead to a 409 error
with a message of "Another request is operating on resource of
type XXX (id: XXX) with the name 'XXX'. Please try again
later". This may be a legitimate 409 error, but attempts to
remove the product from the catalog several hours later can
still result in a 409 error.

Local fix

  • When you see the 409 error with a message of "Another request
is operating on resource of type XXX (id: XXX) with the name
'XXX'. Please try again later.", persisting over a long period
of time, Please cleanup the orphaned locks using command,
    apicops locks:delete-expired.
