Error description

  • While using a Basic Authentication for a third-party OAuth
Provider in IBM API Connect, the following two characters do
not get encoded properly in the password '=' '&'

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • The basic authentication password set in the API Gateway UI were
not getting encoded properly if they included certain
non-standard but accepted characters like & and =.

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed third-party OAuth Provider not accepting special
characters as string from the API Gateway UI. Customers unable
to use special but accepted characters should be able to use
them again. APIC release 2018.4.1.5 will have the fix.
