APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When one cluster member is trying to delete a directory but at
the same time another cluster creates a file inside the same
directory. Neither cluster member can then sync their change as
the other change conflicts with it.

Scenario:
nodeA creates /bill/bob
nodeB deletes /bill

Result:
nodeA cannot sync bob -> nodeB as /bill does not exist
nodeB cannot sync /bill -> nodeA as /bill/bob exists

Local fix

  • Delete the  directory under sites directory

Problem summary

  • Cluster synchronization can fail due to race condition.

Problem conclusion

  • Fix targeted for release in v2018.4.1.4.
