When using the -qsymtab=static option, invalid code is being generated, which is causing an internal compiler error.

Do not use -qsymtab=static

USER AFFECTED: AIX users who specify -qsymtab=static (or -qstatsym) without also specifying -g . PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The compiler produces an error with the following message: /usr/vac/bin/xlc: 1501-230 (S) Internal compiler error; please contact your Service Representative
