Error description

  • In certain scenarios (when specific trace is enabled) sensitive
information will be shown in WebSphere Commerce trace logs.

Local fix

  • Ensure that you have implemented proper security to restrict
access to the log files.  Also ensure you properly restrict the
ability to set WebSphere Application Server trace settings.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
All users of WebSphere Commerce 6.0 with fix pack 1 to fix pack
6.  WebSphere Commerce 6.0 fix pack 7 includes the security
fixes of LI74127.

PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
Logs may contain sensitive information when trace enabled.

BUSINESS IMPACT:
Potentially high impact

RECOMMENDATION:
IBM recommends that you obtain and install WebSphere Comerce 6.0
fix pack 7.  It includes these security fixes for APAR LI74127
among many other fixes.  Fix pack 7 is available at the
following URL:

WebSphere commerce 6.0 users of earlier fix packs should obtain
and install a fix for APAR LI74127.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere Commerce product code has been updated to correct
the issues and prevent this sentitive information from being
output to the log files.
