Error description
Restore from backup is much slower at V9. Restore from backup is much slower at V9 compared to V8. The actual difference in restore time is dependent on type of hardware, OS and the type of filesystem, but typically may take longer to restore by a factor of 2. Journally filesystems such as jfs2 , ext3 are more likely to show the problem but it is not confined to these filesystem types.
Local fix
Using a non journally type of filesystem may improve performance. Using DMS containers may improve performance. Use raw device DMS containers
