Error description

• On Linux and UNIX operating systems, if you login as root and
  you source the DB2 instance environment for the root user,
  issuing the db2imigr, db2icrt, db2iupdt and other instance
  commands might fail and return an error.
  .
  If you received the one of the following errors, sourcing the
  DB2 instance environment might be the cause for the problem:
  
  - DBI1055E The message file db2install.cat cannot be found
  - DBI1082E The file or directory file-name already exists
  

Local fix

• To avoid possible errors with of the instance commands,
  do not source the DB2 instance environment for the root user.
  

Problem summary

• IF THE DB2 INSTANCE ENVIRONMENT IS SOURCED AS THE ROOT USERID,
  THE DB2IMIGR, DB2ICRT, AND OTHER DB2 INSTANCE COMMANDS MIGHT
  FAIL.
