Error description

  • CDC throws the following warning message and fails the
    subscription :

Invalid record size detected in redo log file
'/LOG/arch1_1001012345_10110.dbf'. The Oracle redo log file
'/LOG/arch1_1001012345_10110.dbf'' contains a record of size
83954042. The largest record previously encountered is 28400.
The maximum configured allowable record size is 1048576. This
error was detected in file /dmbuild/jenkins/pipeline_master/bui
    ld-output/aix/power/default/64/temp/ireflect-engine/src/main/c/
oraraw/orarfile.cat line 1269. This may be caused by any of the
conditions: a) A corrupt redo log has been encountered. b) The
log position was reset manually to an invalid block and offset.
    c) The configured maximum record size is too small. This process
may attempt to automatically recover by restarting. If this
problem is not resolved by an automatic restart, the following
actions may be required to recover: a) Increment the last
reported log position to attempt to bypass the corruption. or b)
Re-position the scraper to a valid position by providing an SCN
only. or c) Increase the maximum record size. Re-start
    replication.

Local fix

  • Either restarting CDC instance, or restarting all the
    subscriptions.
