Error description
DataStage job with ODBC cc stage receives valid error from Sysbase database but just hangs versus abort. 10:23:47.043 DBMS SYBASE_DW_PROD -- Number (512) Severity (16) State (9) Server (SYBASE_DW_PROD) Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is illegal when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >=, or when the subquery is used as an expression. Information Server provided DataDirect ODBC driver is ignoring the error and the job just hangs forever. Tried to to click the stop execution button in DataStage Director several times to get it to finally abort. Problem summary
Datadirect odbc driver for sybase ignores legitimate error database and just hangs.
Problem conclusion
Fixed: Issue got fixed in the driver code and after installing the latest patch the job abort with proper driver message,
