APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When trying to execute Access Server commands, get SSL
handshake error:javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException:
com.ibm.jsse2.util.h: PKIX path building failed:
com.ibm.security.cert.IBMCertPathBuilderException: unable to
find valid certification path to requested target

This is
because correct truststore is not loaded.

Local fix

  • No known work around.

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED:                                              *
* This issue might affect you if you enabled TLS encryption    *
* and you use Management Console/Access Server commands such   *
* as dmlistusers.                                              *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
* After turning on TLS for Access Server, the command-line     *
* utilities (such as dmcreateuser, dmlistusers) could no       *
* longer connect. They failed with an SSL handshake error.     *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
* Upgrade to IDR MC/AS 11.4.0.3-11058 or newer.                *
****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Upgrading to IDR MC/AS 11.4.0.3-11058 or newer resolves the
issue.
