APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Replicating an empty value from a non-Oracle source database
into an Oracle target database RAW column used to insert the
empty value as an empty value, which resulted in Oracle
converting the empty value to null. Now CDC  will insert a
single byte with the value 0 so Oracle will not convert it to
null.

* CDC was replicating empty values to binary target columns as *
* null rather than empty.                                      *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
* Upgrade to IDR 11.4.0.3-5566 or newer for Oracle.            *
****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Upgrading to IDR 11.4.0.3-5566 or newer for Oracle resolves the
issue.
