Error description

  • While you upgrade to IBM Business Automation Workflow 19.0.0.3,
    the BPMUpdateSystemApp fails with an error like

    com.ibm.jsse2.util.h: PKIX path building failed:
    java.security.cert.CertPathBuilderException:
    PKIXCertPathBuilderImpl could not build a valid CertPath.;
    internal cause is:
    
    java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: The
    certificate issued by CN=[CN name], OU=[OU name], O=xxx, C=xx
    is not trusted; internal cause is:
    
    java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: Certificate

Local fix

  • Before starting the profile upgrade procedure, change all the
    IBM Business Process Manager or IBM Business Automation Workflow
     data sources to have sslConnection=false.
