JR62293: IDR CANNOT FIND THE CORRECT SCHEMA AFTER UPGRADING AND STARTING THE INSTANCE

APAR status

Error description

  • After upgrading, the IDR instance fails to start with an
    exception
    "Cannot find the user "V23*"".
    
    This issue may affect you if you are running CDC/IDR for Kafka
    and CDC/IDR for Datastage
    

Local fix

  • 1. Before upgrade, go to installdir/keystore/, backup file:
    secrets.jks to secrets.jks.bk
    2. Perform the upgrade
    3. Start
    the instance, now it will fail, but tsprop is recovered with
    encryption_configuration entry added.
    4. Go to
    installdir/keystore, copy secrets.jks.bk to secrets.jks to
    replace the existing one
    5. Now restart the instance, it will
    be successful.

Problem conclusion

  • Upgrading to IDR 11.4.0.3-5567 or newer resolves this issue.
