JR61437: DB2 CONNECTOR FAIL TO LOAD DATA WHEN VARGRAPHIC COLUMNS IS USED AS PARTITIONING KEY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• While trying to load data into partitioned database, DB2
  connector is determining
  target partition for each row to be written. If any of the
  columns of the partitioning
  key is of type GRAPHIC or VARGRAPHIC, job fails with the
  following error:
  
    Message: DB2_Connector,0: An error occurred while determining
    the row partition. The method db2GetRowPartNum returned reason
    code 0, SQLCODE -6,044.
  

Local fix

• DB2 connector partitioning code has been altered to handle the
  VARGRAPHIC and GRAPHIC
  column data types as partitioning keys. To be able to load the
  data into the target
  table it is required to set the APT_STRING_PADCHAR environment
  variable to 0x20.
