Error description

• You receive a "Data Out of Sync" error in IBM Business Process
  Manager (BPM) V8.6
  Process Center while editing some service.
  
  After this error, whenever you make any change to the service,
  the web IBM Process Designer doesn't allow you to save the
  change. Instead, you receive the following message
  
  "An error was found with the most recent version"
  
  and only the older version is loaded, thereby rolling back the
  changes that you just made.
  
  Sometimes, you also see a message saying the "Data is out of
  sync".

Local fix

• To restore the ability to edit the application, shorten switch
  conditions that are longer than 1000 characters.
  

Problem summary

• There may be other causes for these errors, but this specific
  issue is caused by an issue related to the length of conditions
  in some switches. The length of a condition must be 1000
  characters or fewer, but this length is not currently enforced
  in the web Process Designer. If a longer length exists, future
  attempts to save fail.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix that prevents the corruption of the exclusive gateway
  conditions will be available in a future release of IBM Business
   Automation Workflow.
