JR60151: ABAP BACKGROUND JOB NOT DELETING VARIANT.

 

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • For ABAP background job if "Use existing Variant" is not
selected recreate the existing variant in SAP for current run
time

Local fix

  • If the variant exist after the jo completed successfully then
delete it manually from the SAP system.

Problem summary

  • In case of background job of ABAP extract stage, if the provided
 variant name exists then it will not be updated with new
parameters provided while running the job. The job will run with
 old parameters.

Problem conclusion

  • Code fix: the variant value will be refreshed, using the current
 value at runtime. Fix available as patch for versions 8003,
8100, 8101; included in 8.2GA.
