JR58373: NEED TO DISABLE STRING PADDING IN ABAP STAGE.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer migrating from release 7 of the pack where the default
  was space column padding now encountering issue on 500+ jobs
  affected with the new release 8 feature of the pack that trim
  those spaces.
  Customer request a patch to have environment variable to
  unactive the trimming.
  

Local fix

• Redesign the jobs to be more in sync with the PX padding
  features.
  

Problem summary

• Need to be able to enable string padding in ABAP stage in
  version 8003. This was the default behavior in version 7.0 and
  7.1, where strings extracted from SAP were padded with spaces to
   string length.
  Beginning with version 8.0.0.0, the default behavior was changed
  (JR54173), now the strings are trimmed of trailing spaces, to
  match the behavior in SAP.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code fix: Disable trimming trailing spaces for VARCHAR type
  fields when user sets the newly introduced environment variable
  DSR3_ABAP_DISABLE_TRIM_SPACES=1
  If the environment variable is either set to 0 or not defined
  the default behavior (trimming trailing spaces) is preserved.
  Fix available as patch for version 8003 and will be included in
  vNext.
