Error description

• Using the command line options of CMT if the option to update
  the variant is submitted then the tool should update to that
  value even if original variant version is set to null.

  jobs.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Connector Migration tool throws a null pointer exception if it
  cannot update the variant of the requested stage in the job.
  This happens if the original value of the variant is null. This
  behavior is seen when using the command line option to update
  the variant.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply Patch JR58364

Problem conclusion

• The null pointer exception is handled and for the stage which
  does not have the variant defined its variant version is updated
   to the value specified in the command line option.
