APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After you clone an application, the cloned instance has
incorrect lines in IBM Process Designer, many (if not all)
Heritage Human Services throw errors in the logs upon execution,
     and the application is unusable.

    PRODUCTS AFFECTED
IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) Advanced
    IBM BPM Standard
    IBM BPM Express

Local fix

  • To enable the process app to progress further until hitting the
next error (where next dashed line occurs), delete and re-create
     the dashed line links.

Problem summary

  • This issue occurs because there is a circular dependency: a
nested service in an ancestor service refers to a descendant
service that is wired from the start to the end node and a
nested service in the descendant service refers to an ancestor
service that is wired to the start or end node; you select both
services in the navigator and choose Duplicate, Copy, or Move.

When the action is complete, one of the links in the first
service duplicated., copied, or moved has an unset endpoint
    binding.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix that corrects the following problems will be included in
IBM BPM V8.5.7 cumulative fix 2017.06:

-When you clone a service that has an endpoint binding where a
circular reference is created within the bindings, the reference
that is saved internally first will have an incorrect mapping
ID. This incorrect mapping ID causes the editor to display the
    link as a dotted line.

-For a variable-type UCA, additional checks are added to
prevent validation errors from being found when cloning has
    completed.
