Error description

  • Member search queries with special character 'ß' do not work as
    expected on  i/OS (IBM i):
    WebSphere Commerce function for searches has to respect behavior
     for 'ß' on IBM i and should not replace it with 'SS'.

    WebSphere Commerce Version 6, 7, and 8.

    Inconsistent behavior for member search queries on  i/OS (IBM i)
    
    BUSINESS IMPACT:
    Searches in Organization Administration console fails if the
    keyword contains special characters such as ß and ó.
    
    RECOMMENDATION:
    

Problem conclusion

  • Updated to use toUpperCase with locale to resolve the value for
    JDK converting and SQL UCASE/UPPER to ensure that the value
    resolved by JDK api toUpperCase is the same as SQL resolved
    value by UCASE/UPPER.
