Error description

  • In the Instance Details UI of a process, you see a Documents
section that shows the process folder and its contained local
documents and folders as well as references to documents and
folders that are located in external ECM systems. You might also
 see a Documents section in other human services that implement
user tasks where the Document Explorer coach view is used.

To create a new version of a local document listed in the
Documents section, you first perform the Check Out operation.
After the document is checked out, you see a lock icon that
indicates that the document is checked out, but the displayed
user is not correct. Instead of your user name, you see the name
of the user who last modified the document before you checked it
out.

Problem summary


    

  • When the Document Explorer shows a local document, it uses the
IBM_BPM_Document_UserId property of the document stored in the
IBM BPM document store. During the checkout operation, this
property was not updated on the private working copy of the
document. Instead, it still contained the identifier of the user
 who last updated the document.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • A fix will be included in IBM BPM V8.5.7 cumulative fix 2017.06
that sets the IBM_BPM_Document_UserId property of the private
working copy to the user who performs the checkout operation. It
 also corrects the allowable actions of a local document so that
 only the user who checked out the document is allowed to check
it in.
