When user_name is the same as another user's user_id, you sometimes see the incorrect user information on the Process Instance Stream. Problem summary
The REST API to get user information that is used on the Process Instance Stream calls the userNameOrUserId as the parameter by using userName. As a result, the search looks for userId first and return the user who has as the userId that the userName passed.
Problem conclusion
A fix is available in IBM BPM V8.5.7.0 cumulative fix CF2017.03 that modifies the Process Instance Stream to get the user information by using a REST API that distinguishes between user_name and user_id. With the fix applies, you always see the correct user when searching by user_name.
