Error description

  • After you install interim fix JR55797 and disable the
instrumentation framework by setting <enable-instrumentation> to
false in the 100Custom.xml file of IBM Process Center or IBM
Process Server, you can no longer open the Process Monitor page
in the Process Admin console. Instead, you see the following
    error message:

Error: Ask the administrator to check the SystemOut.log file for
more information to resolve the error.

In the SystemOut.log, you find the following stack trace:

SRVE0068E: An exception was thrown by one of the service methods
    of the servlet [/html/cs_processmonitor/summary.jsp] in
    application [IBM_BPM_Teamworks_nodename1_server1]. Exception

The Instrumentation page can be loaded, but in Chrome and
Internet Explorer you see the following message:

Error: An unknown error has occurred.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The Process Monitor page in the Process Admin console requires
the instrumentation framework to work correctly. However, the
page is not enabled to deal with the option to disable
instrumentation, which was introduced with interim fix JR55797.
As a result, the page fails with the indicated error.

IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) Advanced
    IBM BPM Standard
    IBM BPM Express

Problem conclusion

  • The Process Monitor page code was changed to show an error
message that indicates that the instrumentation framework is
    disabled.

The fix is currently targeted for inclusion in IBM BPM 8.5.7
    cumulative fix 2017.03.
