JR57222: IIS 11.3 DOCUMENTATION INDICATES THAT -XMX2048M CAN BE PASSED AS GENERIC PARAMETER FOR ISTOOL IMPORT

• Closed as documentation error.

Error description

• Doing an istool import of common metadata and getting java
  memory error.  In the istool documentation, under generic
  parameters, it indicates to add this parameter -Xmx<number of
  megabytes>M to specify the max heap size to use to run the
  command.  As a generic parameter, it says that "optional
  parameters that can be used with all istool commands".
  
  When the parameter is used, istool> import -dom kvmxxx-rh6:9445
  -u isadmin -p xxxxx -Xmx2048M -ar
  "C:\tmp\fatfile_2016-10-23_09-00-03_58.isx" -cm '' -r
  
  The command throws this error:
  ERROR: Unknown option: -Xmx2048M istool import  [ Options ]
  
  This should not be listed as a generic parameter that can be
  used with the import command as it throws an error.
  

Local fix

• Do not use the -XMx<number of megabytes>M generic parameter for
  imports, but instead modify the iis.client.site.properties file
  on the server, as outlined in this tech note:
