Error description
You configured the specific IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) EXTERNAL_CLIENT endpoint scenario, for example, in a setup with a load balancer. When the configuration becomes active, you can reach all Process Admin panels except the Process Inspector tab, which fails to load. You receive an HTTP 404 error.
Local fix
Base on your setup, configure the EXTERNAL_CLIENT scenario in a way that allows the Process Inspector to calculate the endpoint correctly. Problem summary
For each HTTP request, IBM BPM considers two scenarios to determine how to calculate the correct URL to the target server: the specific scenario and the default scenario. The default scenario is used if no configuration for the specific scenario is found. In most cases, the default scenario is the RELATIVE scenario, meaning that the URL is calculated relative to the page that issues the request. The Process Inspector uses EXTERNAL_CLIENT as default scenario. However, depending on the setup, using EXTERNAL_CLIENT as the default scenario might lead to an incorrect endpoint resolution and the Page Not Found error. Problem conclusion
A fix will be available in IBM BPM cumulative fix 2017.03 that changes the Process Inspector to use the RELATIVE scenario as default scenario.
