Error description

  • In IBM Process Portal, when you open a task in the Work tab a
    new window opens to display the coach if the
    <launch-in-new-window-enabled> configuration option is set to
    true. When the new window opens, you might notice that
    "about:blank" appears in the address bar until the coach is
    loaded.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When a task is opened in a new window, an empty iFrame must be
    loaded immediately in the new window to account for the
    possibility of the browser pop-up blocker being enabled.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix will be available in IBM BPM V8.5.7 cumulative fix 2016.12
    that adds a new configuration option. When set to true, this
    option defers loading the iFrame so  "about:blank" does not
    appear in the address bar. This setting requires the browser's
    pop-up blocker to be disabled or to allow pop-ups for Process
    Portal.
    
    To determine whether the cumulative fix is available and
    download it if it is, complete the following steps on Fix
    Central (https://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral):
    
    1. On the Select product tab, select WebSphere as the product
    group, IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the
    WebSphere options, All as the installed version, and All as the
    platform, and then click Continue.
    2. In the Text field, enter "cumulative fix?, and click
    Continue.
