Error description

  • When you deploy a snapshot and your locale is set to an
    incorrect locale identifier, the deployment might not work. You
    get an error message and a NullPointerException:
    
    com.lombardisoftware.core.deployment.InstallmentStateMachine
    installPackage CWLLG3535E: The snapshot with the ID
    Snapshot.xxxx could not be imported.
    com.lombardisoftware.client.delegate.BusinessDelegateException:
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    

Local fix

  • When a wrong locale is specified, complete the following steps:
    
    1. In the Process Admin Console, under User Management, select
    User Bulk Attribute Assignment and open the attribute settings
    for the respective user.
    
    2. Change the Locale attribute to a correct locale identifier.
    

Problem summary

  • The incorrect locale settings for a user could be specified in
    the Process Admin Console under User Management > User Bulk
    Attribute Assignment.
    If the user deploys a snapshot of a process app, the locale
    defined in the user attributes is used. IBM BPM expects either
    a correct identifier or no identifier at all.
    
    A fix is included in IBM BPM 8.5.7 cumulative fix 2016.12 that
    prevents an incorrect locale user attribute setting in the
    Process Admin Console.
    
    To determine whether the cumulative fix is available and
    download it if it is, complete the following steps on Fix
    Central:
    1.    On the Select product tab, select WebSphere as the product
    group, IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the
    WebSphere options, All as the installed version, and All as the
    platform, and then click Continue.
    2.    In the Text field, enter "cumulative fix?, and click
    Continue.
    
    After you apply the fix, specify a correct Locale attribute for
    the respective user if necessary.
