Error description

• When you define an external implementation in IBM Process
  Designer, you define input and output parameters that define the
  interface of the external implementation. For each parameter,
  you define a name, the type, and whether the parameter is a
  list.
  
  In a business process definition (BPD), you can choose your
  external implementation as an implementation for a user task. In
  the data mapping section, you specify which variable data is
  passed. When you run the BPD, you expect that only valid input
  data can be mapped into the external implementation that matches
  its input parameter specification. Instead, any data can be
  passed without an error.

  implementation, no data type checking is performed.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.5.0 that checks the type of
  the input data in the same way as if the task is implemented by
  a service with the same interface.
  
  On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
  for JR56249:
  
  1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
  
  2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR56249, and click Continue.
