JR56152: THE BPMUPDATESYSTEMAPP COMMAND FOR SYSTEM TOOLKIT UPDATES FAILS

APAR status

Error description

  • When you run the BPMUpdateSystemApp command for the IBM Business
    Process Manager (BPM) system toolkit, the command fails. On the
    system where you ran the command, you find an FFDC message with
    an exception cause like the following exception:

Local fix

Problem summary

  • While cleaning up a snapshot, IBM BPM must repair an incorrect
    foreign key relationship between the LSW_CLASS and
    BPM_SHARED_OBJECT tables. While running for the system toolkit,
    this repair performed incorrect logic.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.5.0 that corrects the repair
    logic to work during an upgrade of the system toolkit as well.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR56152:
    
    1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
      the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
      level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
    
    2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR56152, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
