Error description

  • If you specify the default portnumer 443 for the BPMVirtualHost
during endpoint configuration the resposive coach panle in the
webPD shows blank and in the console you will notice following
    error.
Uncaught TypeError: Can not read porperty 'bootstrap' of
    undefined.
URLS with the portnumber https://pchostname.ibm.com:442 work in
most cases, except the coach layout where
the Dojo's logic thinks, the URL of this resource DO NOT match
scheme due to the URL with the portnumber. As a result Dojo's
logic thinks it has to handle this request a "cross-domain" via
    a script tag.
This APAR opened to enhance the Endpoint code not to include
the port number if is is default value 443
    release.

Local fix

  • Review the Bcell-bpm.xml file under your
    config/cells/<cellName> directory for BPMVirtualHost
    example
    <virtualHosts xmi:id="BPMVirtualHostInfo_1458432581358"
    hostname="webserver.austin.ibm.com" port="443"
    transportProtocol="http" name="My_vh"/>
You can use the following command to remvoe the port number for
    the BPMVirtualHost
    BPM 8.5.7 version:
    wsadmin> AdminTask.setBPMVirtualHost(['-de', 'De1', '-name',
    'My_vh', '-transportProtocol', 'https', '-port', '' ])
Above command may result in port = -1 in the cell-bpm.cml file
    whis is OK .
    BPM 8.5.6 version :
    AdminTask.setBPMVirtualHost( "[ -de De1 -name myVirtualHost
    -hostname myHostName -port '-1' ]" )
Note that the entire list is within double quotes, and the -1
option value is within additional single quotes.

Problem summary

  • When an explicit port number is set for a IBM BPM virtual host,
this port number is always included in generated URLs even if it
is the default port for the given transport protocol. As a
    result, this issue occurs.

Problem conclusion

  • fix will be included in IBM BPM V8.5.7 cumulative fix 2016.09
that omits the port number from the generated URLs if it is the
default port for the given transport protocol (80 for http, 443
    for https).
