Error description

  • If a store is enabled to use the "Account activation via Email"
    option, a marketing dialog activity is created with the
    "Customer Registers" trigger, followed by a "Send Message"
    (email) action.
    
    Customers who register in the store, and then click the link in
    the account activation email, do not participate in the dialog
    activity.

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED:
    WebSphere Commerce Version 7 or Version 8 stores with "Account
    activation via Email" option enabled.

    A dialog activity with a "Customer Registers" trigger does not
    work when the "Account activation via Email" option is enabled
    
    BUSINESS IMPACT:
    Marketing dialog activity does not work.

Problem conclusion

  • The UserRegistrationEmailActivateCmdImpl command was modified to
     ensure that the value in the USERS.PERSONALIZATIONID column and
     the personalizationId in the AuditContext are set
    appropriately. The modifications ensures that the dialog
    activity can identify the correct user to participate in the
    activity.
    
    In addition to applying this fix, you need to configure the
    "Customer Registers" trigger to use the
    UserRegistrationEmailActivateCmd command instead of the default
    UserRegistrationCmd command.
