Error description

  • If service logger is enabled and you send a REST service request
    from a browser, the null field in REST a call might cause a
    NullPointerException in the back end logging. This issue causes
    the REST call to fail because the service logger does not check
    for null values before logging.
    

Local fix

  • Disable the service logger.

  • USERS AFFECTED:
    WebSphere Commerce users on Version 7 Feature Pack 8 who use
    REST calls with service logger enabled.
    
    PROBLEM ABSTRACT:
    NullPointerException occurs when service logger is enabled and
    you send a REST service from a browser

    REST call might fail if service logger is enabled.
