Error description
If you delete a user ID from your user registry, the full name of this user is set to ?null? in the IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) database when subsequently synchronzing users. Any IBM BPM artifacts that are associated with this user display with ?null? as the full name.
Local fix
Problem summary
For performance reasons, IBM BPM keeps a copy of some user attributes in the IBM BPM database. When you change the full name in your user registry, this change must be synchronized with the database copy. If you delete a user from the user registry, IBM BPM still keeps the copy in the database for reference. While users are synchronized, the copy is updated only if a difference is detected between the entry in the user registry and the entity in the database. Currently, the way to determine that there is a difference doesn't consider that a user has been deleted from the user registry. Instead, the full name is considered changed because earlier it was set to something (a meaningful name) and now "null" is returned from the user registry. As a result, the database copy is updated with "null" as the full name.
Problem conclusion
A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.0.1 that corrects the comparison and ensures that the full name for deleted users remains unchanged. On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR54772: 1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack level, and your platform, and then click Continue. 2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR54772 , and click Continue. When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for additional installation instructions and information about the fix.
