JR54191: WPSFEMGR APPLICATION IS NOT CORRECTLY UNMAPPED WHEN YOU UPGRADE

Version 8.5 Refresh Pack 7 for the IBM Business Process Manager products

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When you have multiple deployment environments (DEs) in your
  cell and upgrade from IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) V8.5.5
  to V8.5.6, you see the following exception when the deployment
  environments start:

  The
  com.ibm.wbiserver.manualrecovery.ejb.FailedEventManagerEJBHome
  interface of the FailedEventManagerEJB bean in the
  wpsFEMgrEJB.jar  module of the wpsFEMgr_8.5.6 application cannot
  be bound to the
  ejb/com/ibm/wbiserver/manualrecovery/ejb/FailedEventManagerEJBHo
  me name location. The com.ibm.wbiserver.manualrecovery.ejb
  FailedEventManagerEJBHome interface of the FailedEventManagerEJB
  bean in the wpsFEMgrEJB.jar module of the wpsFEMgr_8.5.5
  application has already been bound to the
  ejb/com/ibm/wbiserver/manualrecovery/ejb/FailedEventManagerEJBHo
  me name location.
  

Local fix

• Uninstall the wpsFEmgr_8.5.5 application.
  

Problem summary

• When  multiple deployment environments are being upgraded, the
  wpsFEMgr_8.5.5 application is unmapped from only the first DE.
  Because the mapping of the older version of the Failed Event
  Manager application is incorrectly removed, an  exception occurs
   when the DE starts.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available in an IBM BPM V8.5.6.0 cumulative fix . This
  fix ensures the application is correctly mapped when multiple
  DEs in a cell are being upgraded
