JR53914: IN PROCESS PORTAL, OPENING PAGES FOR INSTANCES CONTAINING A LARGE AMOUNT OF TASK DATA TAKES A LONG TIME

Error description

  • When you work in IBM Process Portal, you notice that it takes a
    long time for the page to open for instances containing a large
    amount of task data.
    
    A change introduced with interim fix JR53887 requires Process
    Portal to call the process details REST API by using the parts
    parameter with the new value excludeTaskData
    (/rest/bpm/wle/v1/process/<instanceId>?parts=excludeTaskData).
    However, this call for process details returns large amounts of
    unnecessary task data, which takes a long time to load.

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.1, V8.0.1.3, and V8.5.5.0
    that allows the REST process details to exclude task data
    thereby improving the performance when you load tasks and
    instances.
    
    For V8.0.1.3, V8.5.0.1, and V8.5.6.0, on Fix Central
    (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR53914.
    
    1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
    2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR53914, and click Continue.
    
    For V8.5.5.0, on Fix Central, search for JR53686.  Interim fix
    JR53686 contains the fix for interim fix JR53914.
    
    1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
    2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR53686, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
    
    Please ensure that you download and install interim fix JR53887,
    mentioned in the Error Description, when you install interim
    fix JR53914.
