Error description

  • When you use web service integration and the web service SOAP
    response message that the server sends uses xsi:nil= ᄁ¬ツᆲ  1 ᄁ¬ツ
    indicate an element is nil, the parser might not recognize
    that nil value and a Null Pointer Exception might occur or the
    default value might be assigned for that element.
    

Local fix

  • use xsi:nil="true" in the response instead

    Usually when an element is nil xsi:nil= ¢â‚¬  ½true ¢â‚¬  ½ is a
    indicate the nil value. However, for some kinds of web
    services the server uses xsi:nil= ¢â‚¬  ½1 ¢â‚¬  ½ to indicate t
    value.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.5.0 that ensures the SOAP
    message with xsi:nil= ¢â‚¬  ½1 ¢â‚¬  ½ can be recognized correct
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR53890:
    
    1.Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
    2.Select APAR or SPR, enter JR53890, and click Continue.
