Error description

  • Migrating inflight instances using policy file on Z systems
    .
    Instance migration returns an error when a policy file is
    specified when the database is on a Z System environment.
    The migration of the instance is successful however, when
    executing the polucy file a bad SQL grammer error occurs when
    trying to move tokens.

Problem summary

  • ERROR SUMMARY:
    When you try to migrate inflight process instance and supply a
    policy file, you're informed that migration was successful;
    however, the policy file doesn't run and tokens are not
    processed accordingly and are orphaned.

    You see the following SQL error in the logs during instance
    migration:

    PreparedStatementCallback; bad SQL grammar [select
    t0.TASK_ID,t0.STATUS,t0.DUE_DATE,t0.DUE_TIME,t0.AT_RISK_DATE,t0.
    SUBJECT,
    ...
    = ? order by TASK_ID]; nested exception is
    com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlSyntaxErrorException: DB2 SQL Error:
    SQLCODE=-206,
    SQLSTATE=42703, SQLERRMC=NULL, DRIVER=4.11.69
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.5.0 that corrects the SQL
    statement that fails on Z Systems during instance migration.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR53716:
    
    1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
    2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR53716, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
