JR53013: Deleted promotion code is reactivated in database when another promotion that uses the same promotion code is activated.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When two promotions share the same public promotion code and the
  business user deletes the code from one of the two promotions,
  activating the other promotion will re-activate the deleted
  code. This problem only occurs if the promotion with the deleted
   code is active before the other promotion with the same code is
   activated.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• USERS AFFECTED:
  WebSphere Commerce v7 users that share the same public codes
  among different promotions.

  Deleted promotion code is reactivated in database when another
  promotion that uses the same promotion code is activated.
  
  BUSINESS IMPACT:
  Promotion that should not be applied may be applied when reusing
   codes that were previously deleted.
  
  RECOMMENDATION:
  

Problem conclusion

• When activating the promotion codes, the logic was checking to
  see that the storeId and promotion codes match in the
  PX_PROMOTION and PX_CDPOOL.  Change has been made to also
  compare the reference_id and promotion_id to ensure that the
  promotion code belongs to the promotion.
