Error description
When you start a service task by using the REST API the response cannot be created because there is an unresolved reference in the process model. As a result, you see the CoachUnexpectedFailureException. This exception causes the start of the service task to fail and the client to get a response with status code 500 (internal server error). In the SystemOut.log file, you see an exception that is similar to the following exception: 00000047 RestHelper 3 Encountered exception has message: com.ibm.bpm.wle.api.CoachUnexpectedFailureException: CWTBG0061E: Unexpected failure occurred while processing the coach xml: 'com.lombardisoftware.client.delegate.BusinessDelegateException: Service with ID TWProcess.3e2cabaf-b1b9-4d1e-a60d-586b159d1844 not found.'
Local fix
Problem summary
Because there are unresolved references in the IBM BPM model (the code that assembles the result of the start service REST API) an exception is thrown when the reference is resolved. As a result, the start of the task fails and the start task REST API returns a status code 500 (internal server error).
Problem conclusion
A fix is/will be available for IBM BPM V7.5.1.2 that can deal with unresolved references when assembling the result for the start task REST API. On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR52504: 1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack level, and your platform, and then click Continue. 2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR52504, and click Continue. When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for additional installation instructions and information about the fix.
